Is “We’re bored!” your kids’ mantra? Are you tired of coming up with yet another activity for a rainy day to keep your children entertained? Well, we are not going to tell you how important it is to spend quality time with your kids. Instead, we will share with you a few awesome activities that can help you with that. So next time you hear that your rugrats are bored, you’ll have a few things to tease them mentally and physically. Let’s get rolling.

Indoor Obstacle Course

If you are a proud parent of truly restless kids, then how about going full-on American Ninja on them? Create a makeshift obstacle course for them to test their agility and prowess. With the help of some string, duct tape, hula hoops you can make a course that any boot camp would be jealous of. If you have more than one kid, make sure to turn this into a friendly competition.

Awesome Photo Montage

In case your kids prefer slow-paced entertainment and have vivid imagination, there is an activity just for them – photo montages. Just sit down with your kids and help them transform their photos into something different. You can turn those pictures into oil paintings, put your face on a different body to become a superhero or a Disney princess, or cut yourself and your kids out of the shot to paste onto an enchanted forest, space station, or a haunted house.

Thrilling Scavenger Hunt

Are your kids good at finding things? Like candies that you’ve stashed away to save them for yourself? Then a cleverly-planned scavenger hunt will keep them occupied for a solid day. Place clues around your house that would lead your kids to find a treasure they’ve been dreaming of. Just be sure to make the first clue easy to find, otherwise your young might get frustrated.

Magic Foam Art

If your little ones are of an artsy type, they’ll love playing with colorful foam. Mix dish soap with water really well till you get foam that would be easy to shape. Add food coloring to it, place the foam into some kind of a container (a plastic bin or even bathtub), and let your kids play with it. Colorful foam is so mesmerizing that soon you’ll find yourself playing along with the children.

Cool Cardboard Megapolis

In case you have a few boxes lying around, encourage your kids to build a city with them. With the help of scissors, sharpies or crayons, these regular cardboard boxes can become a police station, a grocery store, a hospital, or a movie theatre. Once the city is built, the real fun of living in it will begin. Just make sure some Dad-zilla doesn’t bring it down.

Makeshift Bowling

Your kids are hungry for some more physical activity? Then give them indoor bowling. Use empty water bottles for pins, a strip of duct tape as the starting line, and a regular sized ball as, well, the ball. If you want to make the game a trifle harder, fill the bottles with water. Then, bowl the day away, keep the score and reward the winner with a sweet prize.

Well, you see – you don’t have to resort to board games or TV to keep your kids occupied on a rainy or chilly day. There are a few easy and rewarding ways to keep them entertained and bond with them along the way. So when you find yourself confined at home with your little ones, you know exactly what to do with them.
